Usher in your weekend with one of the most enduring local acts in Durham! This Friday, the Duke Street Dogs will perform their weekly show at The Blue Note Grill, providing audiences with an extensive catalogue of Americana-inspired tunes. Whether you’re new to Duke Street Dogs or a long-time fan, you’re sure to enjoy your time spent with them this Friday night!

Referred to as a “populist” band, the Duke Street Dogs play a mix of old and new, original material, country and jazz, rock, Tin Pan Alley, bluegrass, and old-time. With a love of melody, an appreciation of all that’s come before, and an ability to stretch their musical chops, the Duke Street Dogs mix all these elements into their live shows.

The intent of this band is to play what each member loves, with attention to the details that define the diverse material. With a playlist numbering over a thousand, the Dogs always surprise and delight with a new take on Americana. Their album, The Duke Street Dogs, is the culmination of the musical journey they all embarked on over 30 years ago.

The Duke Street Dogs have been a Durham institution in one form or another for decades. Their unique blend of genres consistently draws crowds to the Blue Note Grill on Friday nights. Check them out when they return to the stage this Friday, March 8th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This is an all-ages show with no cover charge.
