What is creepy-crawly and the focus of one of the biggest free festivals in Raleigh? Bugs, of course! The annual BugFest, presented by the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, is back again with bigger and better attractions than ever before.
Each year over 35,000 visitors come to BugFest to experience over 100 exhibits, crafts, games and activities. With plenty of interesting exhibits, interaction experiences, and more, this festival is one you’ll never forget.
At BugFest, you can expect to see thousands of different insect specimens, including arthropods, the highlight of this year’s event. Visitors may also take part in a beekeeping workshop, join nocturnal insects at the Evening Insectival, and try delectable dishes featuring creepy crawlers as a major ingredient at Café Insecta. Got a bug you can’t identify? Bring it to the Stump the Experts table, where a panel of entomologists and other scientists will be on hand to assist curious festival-goers.
The best part is, it’s all free! Join the Museum of Natural Sciences, Terminix, and BASF at the Museum on Saturday, September 15th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Events will be held in and around the museum. All are welcome to join in the fun.
Even though The Heights at La Salle Apartments in Durham, North Carolina provides you with all of the comfort, convenience, and entertainment you could possibly desire, we encourage our residents to venture outside of our apartment community and explore all that the city has to offer!
