Since 1980, the Eno River Association has presented the Festival for the Eno to draw thousands of folks to the shaded banks on the Eno River. Sing, dance, and make merry with great food and crafts, all while learning about natural resource conservation and raising funds for land protection in the Eno River basin. Check out Festival for the Eno when it kicks off this Thursday, July 4th, beginning at 10:00 a.m.!
Festival for the Eno will feature 80 bands on 5 stages performing the best contemporary and traditional entertainment from established and emerging artists. There will also be craft beers and cider at the North Coast Brewing Company beer garden, as well as local food trucks and vendors.
Festival for the Eno is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of our rich and varied cultures and offers plenty of hands-on learning opportunities. Attendees can "throw" a pot on a clay wheel, watch a water-powered grist mill grinding corn, or participate in urban farming, kayaking, weaving, and clean energy demonstrations.
The Eno River Association is a 501c3 non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to conserve and protect the natural, cultural and historic resources of the Eno River basin. Since 1966, the Association has worked actively to protect the lands and waters along the Eno River and its tributaries. These efforts have resulted in the protection of more than 7,000 acres, which are largely contained within five public parks: the Eno River State Park, the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, West Point on the Eno Durham City Park, Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve, and the Little River Regional Park.
