Located less than five miles from downtown Durham, the Museum of Life and Science is one of North Carolina’s top family destinations. Situated on 84-acres, our interactive science park includes a two-story science center, one of the largest butterfly conservatories on the East Coast and beautifully landscaped outdoor exhibits which are safe havens for rescued black bears, lemurs, and endangered red wolves.
On Thursday, October 17th, the Museum of Life and Science is brewing up something special for adults ages 21 and older. The Museum of Life and Science is hosting AfterHours: Science of Beer 19', an event that will feature breweries like Aviator Brewing Company, Bhramari Brewing Company, Carolina Brewing Company, D9 Brewing Company, Foothills Brewing, Haw River Farmhouse Ales, and many more.
Your favorite North Carolina brewers will serve up samples, while scientists school you on beer making and drinking. In addition to exploring our 65,000 sq. feet of indoor hands-on exhibits, you’ll get to enjoy Gateway Park, Hideaway Woods, and Magic Wings Butterfly House. To top it off, all money raised from this event will benefit our conservation and education initiatives that help inspire lifelong learning. Food trucks, experiments, and beer served with a dash of altruism. What could be better?
All guest tickets include drink and food samples and a commemorative glass. Food trucks will be parked in front of the Museum with food for purchase: Chirba Chirba Dumpling, American Meltdown, Wingskis, and more! Tickets are $20-$40 and are available online now at www.lifeandscience.org.
